Healthcare remains a bright spot in the employment picture, according to a survey by CareerBuilder.com. It found that 17% of large U.S. healthcare employers (those with 50 or more employees) plan to increase the number of full-time workers in the New Year, 67% plan on making no changes and 16% plan to cut staff.
The survey also found that 33% of healthcare organizations plan to hire contract or freelance employees in 2009, and 5% plan to hire more contract or freelance workers than they did in 2008.
The survey included 329 hiring managers or human resource professionals at large healthcare providers.
