CareerBuilder Lists Office Elevator Antics

August 08, 2012

From fist fighting to dancing, CareerBuilder listed some of the most unusual office elevator experiences based on an online survey of more than 3,800 workers. Here are some of those experiences:

  • “Pantsing” a co-worker
  • Changing a baby’s diaper
  • Flossing teeth
  • Clipping fingernails
  • Fist fighting
  • Showing someone a rash and asking for a diagnosis
  • Moving the entire contents of a co-worker’s office into the elevator, including the desk
  • A woman with her arms full of papers using her head to keep the doors from closing on her
  • Dancing throughout the ride

Also, when asked to identify the most annoying elevator habits seen at the office, respondents cited talking a cell phone (35 percent) and not holding the door open for others (33 percent) as the top two offenses. Standing too close when there is plenty of room and squeezing into an already crowded elevator were tied for third at 32 percent.
