Canadian staffing market update coming to Montréal

April 27, 2015

The Canadian staffing market is well established, and Staffing Industry Analysts estimated that it achieved revenue of C$9.0 billion (US$8.5 billion) in 2013. Canada’s five largest staffing providers include Adecco, Randstad, Allegis Group, Procom and Design Group Staffing.

John Nurthen, executive director, global research, at Staffing Industry Analysts, will present an overview of the Canadian and global staffing markets in May during the national conference of the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services. Topics will include the economy, staffing market prospects, legal issues and more.

Nurthen will also discuss other important long-term contingent workforce trends, including:

  • Total talent management: The concept of integrating all aspects of workforce management from traditionally hired permanent employees to temporary agency workers, independent contractors and other forms of non-employed workers
  • The human cloud: A designation that encompasses online staffing, online services and crowdsourced business models.
  • The impact of automation on the staffing industry: Research indicates 63% of all US temp jobs could be lost to robots, drones and cognitive computer applications in the next 10 to 20 years.

The ACSESS conference runs May 13 through May 15 at the Marriott Château Champlain in Montréal.
