Canadian staffing index slips in February

March 20, 2015

The Canadian staffing index, a measure of staffing activity in Canada, fell to a reading of 92 in February, a decrease of 6% from the reading of 98 in February 2014. The index also fell 6% sequentially from the January index value of 98.

“The Canadian Staffing Index suggests a continued lack of year-over-year growth in volume industry-wide,” said David Francis, research associate at Staffing Industry Analysts. “We note that February of this year had the same number of working days as February of last year.”

The Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services and Staffing Industry Analysts produce the index. It is based upon reported billed hours for temporary staffing from a survey of leading staffing firms.
