Canadian staffing index rises seven points

July 23, 2010

The Canadian staffing index rose seven points in June to a reading of 86 -- its highest level in 18 months -- but remains below the benchmark of 100 set in July 2008, the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services announced.

"Canada's staffing industry is encouraged by these results and we feel this is a true 'pulse' on the economy here," said Steve Jones, ACSESS president. "Cautious optimism and a gradual steady recovery remain the watchwords according to the Canadian staffing index."

The index is produced by ACSESS in conjunction with Staffing Industry Analysts.
