Canadian staffing index falls three points

June 02, 2010

The Canadian staffing index fell three points in April to a reading of 79, the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services reported today. However, the index is up from a reading of 70 in April 2009.

"This slight decline in April reflects the industry's normal seasonal decline of April and May and may also reflect a minor correction for the extraordinary gain reported in the prior month," said Steve Jones, president of ACSESS. "Our members continue to report strong year-over-year growth including a healthy transition of temporary workers to full-time employment."

The index is produced by ACSESS in conjunction with Staffing Industry Analysts.
