Canadian staffing index falls one point

August 18, 2010

The Canadian staffing index, a measure of temporary staffing in Canada, fell one point to a reading of 85 in July following six months of growth, the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services (ACSESS) announced. The index's benchmark of 100 was set in July 2008.

July's decline likely reflects typical seasonal trends in summer months such as plant shut down, vacations and holidays, according to ACSESS.

The index is produced by ACSESS in conjunction with Staffing Industry Analysts.
