Canadian staffing index dips in May

June 18, 2010

The Canadian staffing index slipped one point in May to a reading of 78 from April's reading of 79, the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services reported today. The index is up 13 points from its May 2009 reading of 65.

"The validity of the data collected by the ACSESS Canadian staffing index is consistent with real time information," said Steve Jones, ACSESS president. May's decline reflects normal seasonal patterns with college students flooding the employment marketplace, according to ACSESS.

The index is produced by ACSESS in conjunction with Staffing Industry Analysts.
