Canadian Employment Rises by 59,300

Canada added 59,300 jobs in November for a total of 17.6 million, according to seasonally adjusted numbers released today by Statistics Canada. The number of full-time jobs rose by 55,200 but part-time jobs fell by 4,100.

Canadian unemployment rate fell to 7.2 percent in November from 7.4 percent in October.

Ontario added 32,000 jobs in November. The province added 8,500 full-time jobs and 23,500 part-time jobs. The unemployment rate for the province fell to 7.9 percent in November compared to 8.3 percent in October.

Alberta posted the lowest unemployment rates among all provinces in November at 4.2 percent.
