California County Posts Highest Wage

Santa Clara County, Calif. posted the highest average weekly wage among large U.S. counties at $1,743 in the second quarter of 2011, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. It was followed by New York County, N.Y. at $1,645 and Arlington County, Va. at $1,553.

Williamson County in Texas posted the biggest wage gain among the largest U.S. counties with its average weekly wage rising by $159 in the second quarter to $1,040.
