CRS acquires California staffing firm

February 14, 2014

New York-based staffing firm Corporate Resource Services Inc. (NASD: CRRS) acquired Alar Staffing, a California firm providing industrial and clerical staffing. It marks CRS’ second acquisition for 2014.

The acquisition closed Feb. 13 and terms were not disclosed.

“The Alar Staffing client base fits nicely into our existing business throughout our national footprint,” said CRS Chief Executive Officer John P. Messina. “Alar has three locations that generate over $30 million in business and brings CRS marquee customers that are nationally-recognized brands.”

Alar operates offices in Orange, Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties. It was founded in 1989 by Patricia Cinkle.

The Alar brand will remain in place for a period of time until it is rebranded to CRS. The firm’s executive will also remain for a short transition period, but CRS plans for its existing infrastructure to support the business in the market.

CRS operates 244 staffing and on-site facilities throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. It ranks 28th on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of fastest-growing staffing firms in the U.S.
