CDI lowers revenue estimate

October 09, 2008

CDI Corp. (NYSE: CDI) lowered its estimated revenue for the third quarter, saying it will be 6% to 8% lower compared with the third quarter of last year. The Philadelphia-based staffing and engineering services company said it previously estimated revenue for the third quarter at flat or slightly down year over year.

CDI said the Gulf Coast hurricanes in September, weakening of the North American and United Kingdom job markets and a stronger dollar are cutting into earnings.

The company is slated to release its earnings on Oct. 30.
