CDI subsidiary names new president

August 27, 2014

MRINetwork, a subsidiary of CDI Corp. (NYSE: CDI), appointed John McDonald as president.

McDonald previously served as president and chief operating officer of Service Brands International, a franchise system with a portfolio of home services brands including Molly Maid, Mr. Handyman and ProTect Painters. McDonald also worked in the recruitment industry as vice president of North American sales for ManpowerGroup Inc. (NYSE: MAN).

“The addition of John to the leadership team is especially critical at this time when MRINetwork is planning to hire several hundred new recruiters worldwide to take advantage of growth in the market, which Staffing Industry Analysts predicts will increase globally by 5 percent this year,” said Stuart Batchelor, CDI’s executive vice president and president of CDI’s global staffing services unit. “During the past year, competition for top talent in our sector has heated up significantly, fueled by the tightening of the candidate market among the ranks of executives and professionals. Under John’s direction, MRINetwork’s expansion will enable its franchised offices to more quickly provide top talent who will drive growth in the organization’s global client base.”

Batchelor handled the president’s duties at MRINetwork on an interim basis while the company searched for a dedicated leader. All of CDI’s staffing business now reports to Batchelor as a result of a realignment announced earlier this year.

MRINetwork has approximately 600 franchised offices in 40 countries. Parent company CDI ranks No. 21 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of largest U.S. staffing firms. CDI also recently announced a new CEO, who will take over next month.
