L.R. Kimball is a 550-person firm based in Ebensburg PA with nine offices primarily in the mid-Atlantic region.

L.R. Kimball's focus is on engineering services and the firm does almost no staffing, according to CDI. The deal will give CDI a presence in the architecture and engineering infrastructure marketplace, according to the company. And it enables CDI to provide professional services for aviation, civil, correctional and other projects for federal, state and local governments as well as private industry.

L.R. Kimball President Jeff Kimball will serve as senior VP of CDI Engineering Solutions, and the L.R. Kimball brand will remain.
