Bullhorn buys back-office software provider

July 24, 2013

Bullhorn acquired software provider EASY Software Solutions, which makes the staffing industry-specific timesheet, expense, invoice and commission management software timeshEASY. The acquisition provides Boston-based Bullhorn with a Web-based back office solution to its recruiting customer relationship management and applicant tracking system platform. The firm’s timeshEASY solution was already offered as a pre-integrated partner application within Bullhorn.

The transaction closed by today and terms were not disclosed. The product will rebrand as Bullhorn Back Office.

“All employees of EASY Software Solutions will join Bullhorn in key roles,” said Andrew Hally, Bullhorn’s vice president of product and marketing. Jeff Jefferson, founder and partner, will become director, Back Office solutions and partner Sean Harrington will become manager, Back Office projects.

“EASY Software’s product and Bullhorn’s products are synergistic,” said Hally.

EASY Software Solutions’ software automates highly manual back office tasks such as time, expense, invoice and commissions management while Bullhorn’s existing products automate front-office tasks such as social recruiting, sourcing, candidate and client communication, applicant tracking and job order management. Combined, the two product lines automate the full end-to-end recruiting process.

The rise of mobile computing proved a tipping point for the acquisition as hiring managers and employees now demand mobile Web-based interfaces for managing contractor time and invoices, said Hally.

“They really hit a homerun with mobile, which is a core differentiator for both of us,” he said. “The depth and quality of their product truly stood out and its ease of use for hiring managers and contractors was a clear advantage. The time was right to make the acquisition.”

Bullhorn’s acquisition of EASY Software Solutions follows its acquisitions of MaxHire and Sendouts in November of 2012.
