Bowmer Family Acquires Workway

Workway, a Glendale, Calif.-based staffing provider, was acquired by the Bowmer Family, the company announced Tuesday.

John Bowmer will serve as chairman. Bowmer’s previous staffing industry experience includes serving as chairman and CEO of Adecco SA, the world’s largest staffing firm.

“We are extremely excited about the purchase of Workway, which has a leading market position in its core segment of real estate and banking services,” Bowmer said. “The company has a national infrastructure that will enable us to grow aggressively in our core segment and in attractive niche staffing segments both organically and with strategic acquisitions. We intend to grow fast and to build a thriving company with talented people having fun.”

James Bowmer, most recently president and chief operating officer of Workway, will take on the role of president and CEO. James Bowmer has more than 15 years of experience in the employment services industry in the U.S. and Australia. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of Workway and will serve on its board of directors.

Workway provides staffing for the real estate and banking services industry as well as finance/accounting, clerical, legal, engineering, information technology and scientific staffing.
