Barton Associates, a national locum tenens agency, announced today it has established an oncologist and oncology nurse practitioner staffing and recruiting group due to increased demand and predicted shortages in the field.

The American Society of Clinical Oncology recently estimated that while visits to oncologists are expected to increase by 48 percent by 2020, staffing levels of oncology practices are expected to rise by only 14 percent.

Barton’s oncology locum tenens staffing group will provide staffing support across several oncology sub-specialties, including radiation oncology, surgical oncology, medical oncology, interventional oncology, pediatric oncology, and others.
