Bartech: New CEO and Private Equity Investment

March 09, 2012

The Bartech Group, a Livonia, Mich.-based staffing provider, promoted David W. Barfield to president, CEO and chairman. Bartech also announced an investment in the company by private equity firm Sverica International.

David W. Barfield served as Bartech’s chief operating officer, and he has been involved in leadership at the company since 1995. He succeeds Jon E. Barfield, who is retiring after having served in a leadership role at the company for the last 20 years.

Bartech ranks No. 80 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ 2011 list of largest U.S. staffing firms. The dollar amount of Sverica’s investment and its stake in Bartech were not announced. However, Bartech will retain its minority supplier status from the National Minority Supplier Development Council.

“Sverica shares our long-term vision and this relationship enables Bartech to make the necessary investments to add significant value to customers,” said David W. Barfield.

Sverica has offices in Boston and San Francisco. It has raised more than $425 million of investment capital.
