Bank of America added 4,000 workers from third-party staffing providers during the first quarter to its legacy assets and servicing division, which handles troubled mortgages. The bank reported it now has more than 16,000 workers provided by third-party staffing services in the division.
Third-party staffing includes offshore employees and contractors, according to a financial presentation by the company.
McClatchy Newspapers reported the bank added contingents in the division even as its overall workforce shrank, but said the bank did not disclose third-party staffing in other division. For the story, click here.
