Analysts International revenue dips

Analysts International Corp. (NASD: ANLY) reported second-quarter revenue fell 33.8% year-over-year but was down only 7% when adjusted for a planned exit from non-core business lines.

The Minneapolis-based IT staffing and solutions firm posted second-quarter revenue of $26.8 million compared with $40.5 million in the same period last year.

Second-quarter gross margin improved to 21.0% from 19.7% in the year-ago quarter.

Analysts International recorded a net loss of $842,000 in the second quarter compared with a net loss of $6.6 million in the same period last year. The second quarter of 2009 included $1.7 million in restructuring costs and $2.3 million in expenses for impairment of intangible assets.
