Fiscal third-quarter revenue rose 6.4% at Allied Healthcare International Inc. (NASD: AHCI), a New York-based staffing company that does all its business in the United Kingdom. Allied Healthcare posted revenue of $75.0 million compared with $70.5 million in the same period in the previous year.

Gross margin improved year-over-year to 30.8% from 30.1%.

Third-quarter net income was $2.5 million, up 120%. Allied Healthcare reported income from continuing operations of $2.5 million in the third quarter, compared with a loss from continuing operations of $303,000 in the third quarter of the previous year.
