Adecco renews Olympic program

October 02, 2008

Adecco SA, the world's largest staffing firm, extended its contract with the International Olympic Committee for the "IOC Athlete Career Programme" aimed at getting Olympic athletes jobs both during and after their athletic careers. Adecco will now work with the International Olympic Committee on the program through 2012.

"The end of an elite sporting career is difficult, and the IOC Athlete Career Programme will provide support to assist athletes to continue with their proven success on the field as they move into the labor market," said Jacques Rogge, president of the International Olympic Committee.

Adecco said the program helped 3,000 athletes from 30 countries in its first three years of operation.
