Adecco leaders stepping down, firm names new CEO

May 07, 2015

Adecco, the world’s largest staffing firm, today announced Patrick De Maeseneire, CEO of the Adecco Group for the past six years, will leave the company at the end of August. The board of directors appointed Alain Dehaze as CEO effective Sept. 1. Dehaze, a member of the executive committee since 2009, is currently Adecco’s regional head of France.

CFO Dominik de Daniel will also leave the company at the end of July. Adecco’s board will appoint a new CFO and regional head of France in the coming months.

Dehaze, De Maeseneire and de Daniel are all included on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of 100 most influential people in the European staffing industry.

Dehaze, 51, is a Belgian national. He joined the Adecco Group in 2009 and has led Adecco France since August 2011. Dehaze was regional head of Northern Europe, comprising the Benelux and Nordic regions, between 2009 and 2011. He formerly served CEO of Netherlands-based Humares, an international professional staffing company, from 2007 until joining Adecco. Dehaze also served as CEO of Solvus from 2002 to 2005. Following the acquisition of Solvus by USG People in 2005, Alain Dehaze was appointed COO and deputy CEO of USG People, responsible for operations and the integration of Solvus. Prior to that, he held executive positions in a number of European countries for Henkel and ISS.

“The fact that the board decided for an internal successor stands for continuity. Alain Dehaze is a proven leader, with an international track record and profound industry knowledge“, said Chairman Rolf Dörig. “Alain Dehaze led his team to successfully turn around the business in France, Adecco’s largest market, in a very challenging environment. With his combination of strong leadership and people skills and his operational experience, Alain Dehaze will lead the Adecco Group to the next stage of success.”

Departing CEO De Maeseneire rejoined the Adecco Group as CEO in 2009. He previously held leading positions within the Adecco Group between 1998 and 2002, starting as country manager for the Benelux region before leading the Adecco Group’s worldwide professional staffing business from New York. De Maeseneire served as CEO of Barry Callebaut from 2002 to 2009.

Departing CFO de Daniel joined Adecco Group as CFO in April 2006, following Adecco’s acquisition of DIS AG, Adecco’s professional staffing business in Germany. He also led Adecco’s global solutions businesses, comprising Lee Hecht Harrison, Beeline and Pontoon, and helped develop the FESCO Adecco joint venture in China.

Adecco today reported first-quarter revenue rose 4% in constant currency to €5.1 billion (US$5.5 billion).
