Adecco buys Indian industrial staffing firm

February 08, 2008

Adecco SA's Indian division announced the acquisition of Ajinkya, a Pune, India-based industrial staffing company. Ajinkya has more than 150 clients and more than 4,500 workers. C.R. Kale, Ajinkya's founding director, will remain with the company and serve as its director at Adecco.

Adecco said it plans to grow the company in the Indian market and use the acquisition to provide industrial workers to automotive, construction, and oil and gas companies in Europe and the Middle East.

"Blue collar temping is the next big thing in the Indian HR arena considering the all-around industrial growth and the increasing openness of players in this sector to practices like temping," said Sudhakar Balakrishnan, CEO of Adecco India.
