Active Staffing Services, a temporary staffing provider headquartered in New York, entered into a binding agreement to acquire Manhattan-based Blass Employment Corp., a temporary staffing company targeting the industrial sector.

Active expects the acquisition to enhance its footprint in the New York and New Jersey markets, and in the industrial sector.

Blass Employment will operate under the Active Staffing Services banner and is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Active Staffing Services. Active is in the process of integrating Blass’ applicant and client base and the integration of both companies will take place over the next month.

“The addition of Blass to the Active Staffing organization has opened us up to servicing various segments of the industrial niche that we were not previously exposed to,” said Active President Elliot Elzweig.

The transaction is Active’s second acquisition in the past year; Active last fall acquired Complete Staffing Services, a provider of administrative, clerical, professional and light industrial labor in the Houston market.
