United Kingdom-based staffing firm the Empresaria Group PLC posted revenue of GBP100.6 million (US$200.7 million) for the first six months of 2008, a year-over-year increase of 80.6%.

The company said it received a boost from start-ups and acquisitions, and reported organic revenue growth of 9%.

Gross margin fell to 25.1% in the first half of 2008 from 26.9% in the first half of 2007.

Net income was flat. Empresaria reported net income of GBP800,000 (US$1.6 million), unchanged from GBP800,000 in the same period last year.

Empresaria operates in 22 countries, including the United States with the Gerard Stewart brand.
