Accountable buys government staffing division

October 17, 2013

Accountable Healthcare Staffing Inc. acquired the Denver-based government services staffing division of Capability Healthcare. The division provides healthcare personnel predominantly to Veterans Affairs hospitals.

The transaction closed Oct. 14, and terms were not disclosed.

Capability Healthcare is headquartered in Bellevue, Wash., and provides nurse staffing, travel nursing, allied health and permanent placement solutions in the western United States. The sale allows Capability to focus on its acute care and IT staffing business.

“I have known the owner/CEO of Capability, Dan Bigbee, for some time and we have established a nice rapport,” said Eddie Albert, director of mergers and acquisitions for Accountable. “Dan knew that AHS has enjoyed some recent contract wins in our government services division and Dan felt that his division would be scale additive to what AHS is building.”

The deal marks Accountable’s eighth transaction since the company launched.

“We are pleased to be taking over Capability’s Denver-based government staffing business effective immediately,” said Robert Adamson, chairman and CEO of Accountable Healthcare Staffing. “Capability built a loyal following of healthcare professionals who are now working for Accountable.”

Accountable Healthcare completed its third round equity raise in July and purchased the healthcare staffing businesses of Mastech Holdings Inc. (NYSE MKT: MHH) in August.
