The American Staffing Association’s index measuring employment in the US staffing industry for the week of Oct. 12 to Oct. 18, which included the Columbus Day holiday, edged down 0.04% compared to the previous week. The index value fell to 100.54.

The index was down 4.02% from the same week last year. However, staffing employment rose 0.63% over the past 30 days.
