The American Staffing Association’s index measuring employment in the US staffing industry for the week of Sept. 7 to Sept. 13 edged down 0.56% compared to the previous week. The index value fell to 97.90.

Survey respondents attribute the decrease to the Labor Day holiday on Sept. 7. However, the index was down 4.80% from the same week last year, which did not include Labor Day. Over the past 30 days, staffing employment decreased 0.43%.
