AMN Healthcare Services Inc. (NYSE: AHS), the largest U.S. healthcare staffing firm, promoted Julie Fletcher to the newly created role of chief talent officer, effective Wednesday. Fletcher joined AMN in 2008 and previously was senior vice president of human resources.

In her expanded role, Fletcher will have continued responsibility for AMN’s human resources function, including attracting, developing and optimizing team member talent for corporate roles and across AMN’s staffing companies. The SVP of human resources role will no longer exist.

“Since joining AMN in 2008, Julie has been responsible for the remarkable evolution of our human resources function to one that truly embraces an integrated talent management approach,” said President and CEO Susan Salka in a press release. “Julie has championed a focused, targeted and disciplined talent strategy that ensures we have the most qualified, innovative and accountable team members needed to move our company forward, while ensuring that each team member receives the support and resources needed to remain engaged and motivated.”
