ShiftWise, a healthcare vendor management system, was acquired on Wednesday by AMN Healthcare Inc. (NYSE: AHS), the largest U.S. healthcare staffing firm. Plans call for ShiftWise to continue operating as a stand-alone vendor neutral product, ShiftWise announced in a blog post.

ShiftWise, based in Portland, Ore., will also continue to retain its own brand and maintain a separate database. AMN will not have access to user’s confidential information outside their own account information, according to the blog post.

AMN, based in San Diego, already offered a VMS product called SingleSource prior to its acquisition of ShiftWise. AMN also has a managed service provider offering under the market name AMN Healthcare Strategic Workforce Solutions.
