AMN Co-Founder Now Medical Solutions’ Chairman

June 26, 2012

Medical Solutions, an Omaha, Neb.-based healthcare staffing firm, received a private equity investment and announced that it has a new board of directors which will be chaired by Steven Francis, the co-founder and former CEO of AMN Healthcare Services Inc. (NYSE: AMN).

“With the backdrop of a dynamically changing market, we analyzed several players in the industry and found that the Medical Solutions model is uniquely positioned to thrive in today’s market,” Francis said in a statement.

The amount of the investment was not released. However, the company said it will use the money to increase service technology, internal staff and opportunities for travelers and hospitals.

Private equity firms investing in the company are Tenex Capital Management and McCarthy Capital Fund V.

“We are excited for this investment to help us continue the growth and success our company has achieved,” said Medical Solutions CEO Scott Anderson. “We plan to further invest in technology to support our increased penetration of the market and enable us to continually improve our relationships and experiences with our valued hospital and traveling healthcare professionals.”

Medical Solutions ranked on Staffing Industry Analysts’ 2012 list of best staffing companies to work for.
