Professional employer organization revenue at Automatic Data Processing Inc. (NASD: ADP) rose 11.8 percent to $501.9 million in the company’s fiscal first quarter ended Sept. 30 compared to the same quarter year prior.

Average worksite employees paid by PEO services rose 11 percent in the quarter to approximately 300,000.

PEO services represents just one of Roseland, N.J.-based ADP’s business lines, which include nonstaffing operations. Total first-quarter revenue at the firm rose 7.7 percent to $2.84 billion.

First-quarter net income rose 7.6 percent to $328.6 million.
