Automatic Data Processing Inc. (NASD: ADP) announced it struck a deal to acquire Workscape Inc., a privately held firm that provides Web-based benefits administration and human resource management software.
Terms of the transaction were not announced. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter.
Marlborough MA-based Workscape serves more than 3.5 million users in more than 180 companies, according to ADP.
ADP provides payroll services as well as professional employer organization and other services.
