Approximately 8 percent of older unemployed workers relied mainly upon a public or private employment agency to find work — a proportion that is similar to all age groups, according to a study of older unemployed workers by Statistics Canada.

Older unemployed workers were less likely to use the Internet when searching for a job. However, they spent a similar amount of time looking for work – 13 hours per week – as workers in their 20s and early 30s, according to the study.

The study looked at information from 2006 to 2010.
