56% say it's tough filling accounting, finance positions

October 09, 2007

More than half of finance and human resources managers, 56%, reported difficulty filling accounting and finance jobs, according to a study released by Robert Half International Inc. (NYSE: RHI). The study found that managers worldwide are taking five weeks to fill staff-level accounting and finance positions and eight weeks for management roles. However, the time to fill management roles was only six weeks in the United States.

Experience in compliance was the most sought-after attribute for executives, according to the Robert Half survey.

The survey questioned more than 5,000 finance and human resource managers in 17 countries.
