U.S. jobless claims fall by 43,000

The number of U.S. initial claims for unemployment insurance for the week ended Feb. 6 fell by 43,000, or 8.9%, to 440,000 from the previous week's revised number of 483,000, the U.S. Department of Labor reported today.
