TSR fiscal year revenue falls 14%

TSR Inc. (NASD: TSRI), a Hauppauge NY-based information technology staffing firm, reported revenue of $37.0 million in its fiscal year ended May 31, 2010, a decrease of 13.7% compared with the previous fiscal year.

Gross margin narrowed to 17.7% from 18.0%.

Nevada's jobless rate highest for third month

Nevada posted the highest jobless rate among all states for the third month in a row in July with an unemployment rate of 14.3% -- up from 14.2% in June, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today.

The Conference Board's U.S. leading economic index released today rose 0.1% in July to a level of 109.8. July's gain follows a 0.3% decline in June and 0.5% increase in May.

The Canadian staffing index, a measure of temporary staffing in Canada, fell one point to a reading of 85 in July following six months of growth, the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services (ACSESS) announced. The index's benchmark of 100 was set in July 2008.
