| At last month's Executive Forum, I hosted a marketing panel comprised of colleagues from CareerBuilder, B to B Magazine, Square 1 Strategy and Corestaff. I really thought everyone on the panel had great insights and wonderful things to contribute to the audience. Prior to the conference, we assembled a list of resources that I wanted to share with all of you. Here are a list of books the panelists and I suggest you read; a couple of websites you might look at and another goody or two that might interest you. | Books to Read | Author | | Double Digit Growth | Michael Treacy | | Groundswell - Winning in a World Transformed by Social Technologies | Li and Bernoff | | 22 Immutable Laws of Branding | Ries and Ries | | New Rules of Marketing and PR | David Merman Scott | | Selling the Invisible - A Field Guide to Modern Marketing | Beckwith | | Made to Stick | Heath and Heath | | Magazines | | | Fast Company | www.fastcompany.com | | Television | | | CNBC - The Big Idea | 10 pm ET | | Websites | | | www.mequoda.com | | I have personally read most of these books and I guarantee you will pick up a morsel or two from each one of them. Some of them offer reminders about common sense approaches to marketing; some offer some different things you might want to try. Some of the books will push you to expand your thinking and get you to consider a couple of new ways of marketing your staffing firm. You can purchase most of these books at your local bookstore or online at any online book marketplace. Personally, I suggest you support you local independent bookstore. There are so few of them left, they need our help. And the winner is... At the panel session, Square 1 Strategy, a marketing consulting firm, offered a free consultation to one attendee of the session. The winner is: Donn Harvey, Protingent Staffing. Congratulations to Donn and thank you to Square 1 for offering the consultation session. Post your resources We would love to know the marketing books you like/read, the websites and marketing tools you use and what helps you do your job in these changing times. Post them on this blog, or send me an email, I will collect them and publish them to all. |
