Staffing Industry Analysts' Customer Loyalty Survey

Mountain View, Calif. – December 23, 2010 – Staffing Industry Analysts’ surveyed over 2,000 buyers of staffing services and providers of staffing services to determine the highest customer loyalty and satisfaction with Vendor Management Systems (VMS) and Managed Service Providers (MSP). Survey data was collected by Staffing Industry Analysts between May and July 2010 as part of its Contingent Workforce Strategies (CWS) Council service. The CWS Council is designed to help buyers of contingent labor become more effective and efficient in their usage of contingent labor. More and more buyers of contingent labor are using VMS and MSP’s. In 2009 Staffing Industry Analysts’ estimated that there was greater than $66 billion in spend under management.

Those firms with sufficient response rates, that also scored in the upper 25th percentile in customer loyalty scores, were designated as top performers. The top overall performers represent firms that scored high in loyalty with both buyers of contingent labor and staffing suppliers who utilize their services. Based on the survey results, top overall performers are listed below.

Staffing Industry Analysts defines a VMS as: An Internet-enabled, often Web-based application that acts as a mechanism for business to manage and procure staffing
services (temporary help as well as, in some cases, permanent placement services) as well as outside contract or contingent labor. Typical features of a VMS include order distribution, consolidated billing and significant enhancements in reporting capability over manual systems and processes.

Staffing Industry Analysts defines an MSP as: A company that takes on primary responsibility for managing an organization’s contingent workforce program. Typical responsibilities of an MSP include overall program management, reporting and tracking, supplier selection and management, order distribution and often consolidated billing. The vast majority of MSPs also provide their clients with a vendor management system (VMS) and may have a physical presence on the client’s site. An MSP may or may not be independent of a staffing supplier.
